Build and keep a team where people can be honest, stay grounded, and do work that matters.

Facilitation, mediation, and leadership development for mission-driven teams.

I help education leaders, non-profit directors, and front-line advocates navigate deep conflict, strengthen leadership capacity, and build workplace cultures where people can meet the demands of their mission without burning out or losing their humanity.

Moving Beyond Generic "Stress Management"

Standard leadership programs often treat emotional exhaustion and conflict as individual failures, telling leaders to "calm down" so they can keep producing.

We do something different. Under The Systemic Resilience Model, we recognize that intense emotional responses- grief, rage, freeze, and overwhelm- are intelligent biological signals responding to real systemic pressure, resource constraints, and even high-stakes trauma.

Through facilitated conversations, tactical skill-building, and thoughtful culture design, we guide your team through 5 Systemic Capacities:

  • Signal: Listen to stress as diagnostic data indicating where operational boundaries or capacities are failing, rather than treating it as a personal flaw.

  • Anchor: Use tactical containment and co-regulation as an active safety shield for clients and colleagues in high-stakes crisis.

  • Repair: Address tension directly with restorative practices and structured scripts before relational friction becomes a team-wide rupture.

  • Space: Protect your staff by building "operational slack" - flexible schedules, realistic deliverables, and coverage models - directly into your workflows.

  • Release: Complete the stress cycle after crisis through mandatory somatic discharge, protecting advocates and leaders from vicarious trauma storage.

Frequent Questions

"Will people actually be honest with an outsider in the room?" Usually, they are far more honest. As an experienced, neutral third party, I hold a confidential, grounded container where staff can voice real operational truths without fear of defensive pushback.

“How is this different from standard leadership development?” Most leadership programs focus on self-care and don’t address systemic workload as much. You won't just learn how to stay grounded in high-stakes moments; you'll learn how to re-engineer team workflows so crisis mode stops being the baseline.

“What makes this approach effective?” It is battle-tested across crisis environments, education, and human services. It operates at three levels simultaneously:

  1. Biological: Tactical regulation and somatic recovery tools for real-time crisis.

  2. Relational: Practical scripts and mediation frameworks for repair.

  3. Organizational: Structural "slack time" and culture design to prevent systemic burnout.

“What if this doesn’t feel like the right fit?” This work is built on genuine partnership. If you feel the engagement isn't delivering real value for your team, let me know within 30 days for a full refund.

I really look at each person and sense things about how hard-working they are, how capable they are, and try to meet the team where they’re at with each person in mind.

For over 15 years, I have worked across nonprofit leadership, disability services, domestic-violence response, higher education, youth development, civic service, and restorative practice. I have led people-and-culture work, managed multidisciplinary teams, built social-emotional learning programs, facilitated conflict, and supported organizations doing some of the most demanding work there is.

I believe teams need the conditions to be honest, accountable, regulated, and connected enough to solve hard problems together. Some credentials include:

  • Oregon State Certified Mediator and Certified Conflict Coach

  • Dual master’s degrees in Conflict & Dispute Resolution and Community & Regional Planning

  • Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, in progress

  • Facilitator and speaker for organizations including Girl Scouts, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the United Church of Christ

  • Presenter at national, international, and United Nations forums

I got trained and battle-tested what I learned specifically so I could help turn things around.
